About Me

Howdy! I’m a journalist, marketing communications professional, and user experience student with deep knowledge of storytelling and the digital space. With more than 15 years of diverse experience under my belt, my passion for merging storytelling, technology, and strategy have introduced me to a variety of industries, with a focus on outdoor lifestyle, tourism, and the non-profit sector.

I’m an immersive and vivid storyteller with an eagle eye for detail and a soft spot for the underdog.

My editorial work focuses on travel, adventure, and human-interest angles, and has been featured  in a variety of print and digital publications: Georgia Straight, Pique Newsmagazine, Mountain Life, Calgary Herald, Richmond News, Daily Hive, and Vancouver Is Awesome, to name a few. I have also been commissioned to produce brand storytelling and copywriting work for a variety of organizations, including Tourism Whistler, Arc’teryx, Destination British Columbia, the District of Squamish, and more.

As a marketer, I’ve worked with and for some of Canada’s top brands (think: TELUS and Whistler Blackcomb). Having worked on both client and agency side, I have a well-rounded view of process, project management and end-to-end campaign ideation and execution. Now, as co-founder of marketing and design consultancy, Substrate Studios, I wear many hats, including business development, head of marketing strategy, and creative director. But, content—and more specifically, writing— will always be my area of passion.

Whether it be 140 characters or a long-form narrative, trust me to pen a human-centric story that captures attention and makes people think.
