Joffre Lakes is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Sea to Sky area. Only a 40 minute drive North of Whistler, this 5km hiking trail is easily accessible for a day hike, or an overnight adventure. Not only that, but it’s also a moderate elevation change, which means it’s a great hike for just about anyone of average fitness.
The 1st lake is only about 50 metres from the trail head. It’s only a taste of what’s to come!
The second lake is approximately 1.5 hours through well-manicured trail, past streams, across boulder fields and alpine meadows, and then up a pretty steep switchback trail.
One of the things that always amazes me about wandering in our beautiful backyard of BC is the cool textures of the forest.
After a quick stop at the second lake …
It’s only 20 minutes to the third and final lake. And what a view…
