With views like this one at the 8th Hole, I almost forgot how bad my golf is.
When visiting a mountain town, why not check out the only true mountain golf course? The world class Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course set against the backdrop of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Well known for challenging even the most seasoned golfer, this course, built into the lower slopes of Blackcomb Mountain with beautiful natural surroundings, has been named one of North America’s Top 15 courses by Condé Naste Traveler. The Fairmont Golf Club is also well known for black bear sightings and local bear tours have even bought their groups to the course for guaranteed sightings.
My golf skills consist of swinging wildly, flailing, losing control of my golf club, and hitting balls into bushes and creeks. But it’s experiences like these that make me want to keep coming back to this sport.
One of the tastiest golfing experiences you’ll find in Whistler is at the Fairmont Golf Club by upgrading your Twilight Tee Time to include a three course dinner in the Clubhouse. Twilight prices range from $69-$129 depending on the time of season and for only $10 you can add dinner. That’s a heck of a deal! I highly recommend the decadent ice cream sandwich for dessert.
All in all, I’m so inspired to improve my golfing technique. For now, I’ll settle for the occasional swing and miss.
